Hi,
I realise this has been mentioned before, but usually it is associated with payments.
However it would be nice to be able to allow members to register for one or more free groups, and automatically belong to those groups, without any moderator or admin intervention. Of course it should be just as easy to withdraw from a group(s) as well.
The groups that could be subscribed to should also be able to be restricted by admin - in otherwords some groups may be free (automatic (de)registration) and other paid for (manual (de)registration).

Yes, I also think that would be nice. Especially if you have a variety of boards at your site not all are interested in, so by doing this you could have them only view the ones they are interested in.

Dave posted a possible soloution in this thread The only snag I see (and I have tried it yet) is that moderators could unsubscribe themselves (from being a moderator) as it seems to write all the groups, rather than just adding or taking one away. And knowing some of my moderators, they would do that very quickly and then wonder why they couldn't moderate posts

One way to avoid that is to see if the user is a moderator or admin and append the groups accordingly just before inserting into the database.
